Course 09 · Lesson 6 of 13
The Content Engine: One Idea, Week of Content
The single prompt that removes "what do I post today" from your life permanently
This is the lesson that changes how you think about content forever.
The content engine takes one idea from your backlog and turns it into a full week of content across six formats in one Claude session, in one sitting. One idea in. Six pieces out. Done.
Why One Idea Should Become Many Posts
Most people burn through their content ideas fast because they use each one exactly once in exactly one format. Then they panic about what to say next week.
A single idea actually contains enough material for a full week if you split it across formats and angles instead of saying the same thing the same way once.
Take an idea like "why I review every Claude output before publishing it."
That single idea becomes a short punchy post stating the core opinion directly in 2 to 4 sentences. It becomes a long post explaining the reasoning with a concrete example of what happens when you do not review. It becomes a carousel with a 4-slide breakdown covering one point per slide. It becomes a caption written to go under a video or screenshot showing you doing this. It becomes a newsletter paragraph covering the personal angle of what happened this week related to this idea. And it becomes a question post inviting replies by asking whether people edit what Claude gives them or publish it straight.
Six pieces of content. One idea. This is the leverage the engine gives you and why 32 ideas in your backlog is actually more than a year of weekly content.
Before You Run It
Make sure MARKETING.md has all three sections filled in before running the engine.
Audience from Lesson 2. One message from Lesson 2. Voice rules and banned phrases from Lesson 4.
If any of these are missing, the engine will produce content that sounds generic. Garbage in, garbage out applies here exactly as much as it does in code.
The Content Engine Prompt
Open Claude with your project folder so it can read @MARKETING.md. Copy this prompt, fill in the idea, and run it:
- Using @MARKETING.md for my audience, message, and voice rules — turn this one idea
- into a full week of content.
THIS WEEK'S IDEA: [ONE IDEA FROM YOUR CONTENT-IDEAS.MD BACKLOG]
Produce all six of the following, in my voice, for my audience:
- SHORT PUNCHY POST (2 to 4 sentences)
State the core idea directly. No preamble, no "hey everyone," no build-up.
Start with the point. Use my voice: short sentences, contractions, direct.
- LONG POST (150 to 250 words)
Explain the reasoning with one concrete example from real life.
Could be something I experienced, something I observed, or something a
client said. End with one clear sentence that lands the point.
- CAROUSEL OUTLINE (4 slides)
Slide 1: The hook — one bold statement that makes someone swipe
Slide 2: Point 1 with one sentence explanation
Slide 3: Point 2 with one sentence explanation
Slide 4: The payoff — what to do or take away
- CAPTION (for a photo or video showing this idea in action)
Assume I have a relevant visual — write the caption that goes under it.
First line is the hook. Body supports the visual. Optional call to action
at end. Keep it under 150 words.
- NEWSLETTER PARAGRAPH
One paragraph (4 to 6 sentences) for this week's newsletter issue.
Personal angle — what happened this week that connects to this idea.
End with a connection to what I do or help people with.
- QUESTION POST (designed to get replies)
State a perspective or observation related to this idea, then ask a direct
question. Not "What do you think?" — an actual specific question they can
answer in one sentence.
Rules for all six:
- Do not repeat the same sentence or phrase across pieces
- Vary the angle even though the underlying idea is the same
- Apply all banned phrases from @MARKETING.md
- Everything should sound like it came from a real person, not a content template
What to Do With the Output
Read through all six. You will not use every piece every week because some ideas suit a carousel and some suit a short punchy post. Pick three or four that match your platforms and schedule.
Do not publish anything word-for-word without reading it first. Claude gets you 80 to 90% of the way in your voice. The last 10 to 20% is yours: catching anything that still feels slightly off. When something does not sound right, use the method from the previous lesson. Paste the line, say what is wrong with it, and give an example of the direction you want.
Mark the ideas you use in content-ideas.md so you know what you have and have not run through the engine yet.
Platform-Specific Adjustments
The six formats above are platform-flexible by default, but here is how to adapt them.
For LinkedIn, the long post and carousel work best. Keep the short post as a hook post or a comment post.
For Twitter and X, the short punchy post and question post are your core formats. The carousel becomes a thread where each slide becomes one tweet.
For Instagram, the carousel and caption are your core formats. The short post can become a Reel caption.
For Facebook, the long post and question post work well. Groups respond better to the question format.
For your newsletter, the newsletter paragraph is already written. Expand it with the long post as the body content.
Running the Engine on a Schedule
The engine is a weekly ritual and not a daily one. Pick one idea from your backlog, run the prompt once, and you have a week's worth of raw material to edit and schedule.
This is the shift from daily content anxiety, staring at a blank caption box every morning, to one focused session a week where everything gets produced, edited, and dropped into a calendar.
The batching lesson covers how to structure that session. The analytics lesson shows you how to feed the results back into next week's idea selection.
Your Action Right Now
Open your content-ideas.md file. Pick one idea from any pillar. Open Claude with your project folder. Copy the full engine prompt above, fill in the idea, and run it.
Read all six outputs. Mark which three or four you would actually post this week. Fix any lines that do not sound like you.
You just produced your first week of content. Move to the next lesson to make the first line of each piece impossible to scroll past.
