Course 10 · Lesson 13 of 14
Course Summary: Sales with Claude
You now have a complete sales system from finding the right prospects to closing the deal to starting the project well
Here is everything in this course and how it fits together.
What You Learned
Sales is a conversation, not a pitch
The only job of a sales conversation is to determine whether the prospect has a problem you can solve, at a price that works for both of you, with enough trust to move forward. Pushing, persuading, and pressure tactics are not part of this and they do not work on people with options.
Qualifying leads
Not every interested person is worth a discovery call. Four questions covering what they need, whether they have tried before, when the deadline is, and what the budget is will tell you in five minutes whether to proceed. A good disqualification saves both parties an hour and leaves a better impression than a vague non-answer.
Cold outreach that gets replies
Three parts in order: a specific observation, a relevant problem or question, and one small ask. Not a portfolio dump. Not a pitch in the first message. The observation that proves you actually looked is what separates your message from the hundred others they receive.
The discovery call
Six questions that surface what they actually need, what it costs them to leave it unsolved, and whether you are the right fit. Prepare with Claude before, summarise with Claude after. End every call with a specific next step and not a vague "I'll be in touch."
Positioning your offer
What you do in technical terms is not what they need in human terms. A positioned offer description echoes their words, connects your deliverables to their problem, and tells them exactly what they get and when. The "Why me" section provides specific evidence and not general claims.
Writing proposals with Claude
Five sections: their situation in their words, your deliverables specific and enumerable, timeline and process, investment clear and unhidden, and next steps as one action. Under 700 words for most projects. Sent within 24 hours of the call.
Pricing your work
Price on value and not on hours. Fixed project prices for defined scope. Retainers for ongoing work. Pilot offers to de-risk first engagements. Three-package structures move the decision from "should I buy?" to "which one?" Discounting trades scope and not rate.
Handling objections
Ask a question before responding. Every objection is a request for information and not a rejection. "Too expensive" means either a budget constraint or a value question so find out which before you answer. "Need to think about it" means there is an unasked question so surface it.
Follow-up sequences
Every follow-up adds something new and never just nudges. Day 3, Day 8, Day 21, circumstance-change, and close the loop. Most deals close on the follow-up. The "close the loop" final message consistently reactivates prospects who seemed dead.
Closing
Ask the direct question and wait for the answer. "Do you want to go ahead?" The silence after the close is not yours to fill. When they say yes, send the invoice and contract within 30 minutes. Immediately.
Client onboarding
The first 48 hours after the deposit sets the tone for the whole project. Welcome email within two hours, project brief before work starts, and first update within five days. Proactive communication prevents anxiety. Early problem disclosure prevents conflict.
Your SALES.md
By now SALES.md should contain all of the following.
What you sell: one-paragraph offer descriptions for each service. Pricing covering rates, packages, pilot offers, and your floor. Qualification questions which are the four filters. Discovery call questions which are the six in order. Common objections and responses covering the five with your prepared answers. And your follow-up sequence with timing and type for each stage.
Every Claude prompt in this course reads from this file. It is the operating system of your sales process and the thing that makes Claude useful instead of generic.
The Sales Flywheel
When the marketing system from the previous course and the sales system from this course are both running, the whole thing compounds.
Content attracts the right people to you. Marketing warms them up before any conversation. Qualification filters for serious buyers. Discovery converts interest into understanding. Proposals convert understanding into decisions. Follow-up converts decisions into yeses. Onboarding converts yeses into happy clients. And happy clients refer the next round of content viewers.
Each client won through the system brings in the next one.
What Is Next
Outbound Email with Claude is the next course.
You now have content through Marketing and conversation through Sales. The next course adds a third channel: proactive outbound email reaching people who have never heard of you, at scale, in a way that is specific enough to work and systematic enough to run without daily effort.
When you are ready, that course is next.
Before You Go
The homework is in the next lesson. It asks you to complete your SALES.md, run one real piece of outreach, and run one discovery call whether real or practice.
Do not skip it. A system that exists in a file but has never been used in a real conversation is not a system. Run it once for real.
