Course 04 · Lesson 5 of 8
Content Batch Automation
Instead of building your content session from scratch each week you run one command Claude does the writing and you review, edit, and post
You already learned how to use Claude for marketing in the Marketing course. This lesson makes that process automatic.
What You Need First
Before this automation works you need two files from the Marketing course.
MARKETING.md contains your audience, message, content pillars, and voice rules. This is what tells Claude who you are talking to and what your voice sounds like.
A topic backlog is either a section of MARKETING.md or a separate content-backlog.md with 20 or more specific topic ideas. These are what Claude pulls from each week.
If you did not complete the Marketing course yet create a minimal version now:
# MARKETING.md ## My Audience [WHO YOUR CONTENT IS FOR] ## My Message [THE ONE THING YOU WANT THEM TO BELIEVE] ## Content Pillars - Teach: [YOUR TEACH PILLAR] - Prove: [YOUR PROOF PILLAR] - Process: [YOUR PROCESS PILLAR] - Stance: [YOUR OPINION PILLAR] ## Voice Rules - [HOW I WRITE] - [WHAT I NEVER SAY] ## Content Backlog - [TOPIC IDEA 1] - [TOPIC IDEA 2] - [TOPIC IDEA 3] - [10-20 MORE TOPICS]
Save this in your content project folder.
The Content Batch Command
Save this as ~/.claude/commands/content-batch.md:
# Weekly Content Batch
Generate a full week of content for this project.
Read @MARKETING.md for:
- My audience definition
- My one message
- My content pillars
- My voice rules
- My topic backlog
Select the best 3 topics from the backlog based on variety across my content pillars.
Do not pick three topics from the same pillar.
For each topic, generate all of the following:
---
TOPIC: [TOPIC TITLE] PILLAR: [WHICH CONTENT PILLAR THIS SERVES]
SHORT POST (LinkedIn / Facebook):
[Under 150 words. Hook in the first line. One practical takeaway.
No hashtags. In my voice — not generic AI voice.]
LONG POST (LinkedIn):
[250-400 words. Start with a hook. Share a story or specific example.
End with one question or call to action. In my voice.]
TWEET / X THREAD (5 tweets):
- Tweet 1 (hook): [under 280 characters]
- Tweet 2: [point or story]
- Tweet 3: [evidence or example]
- Tweet 4: [insight or counterpoint]
- Tweet 5 (CTA): [call to action or question]
EMAIL SUBJECT LINES (3 options):
[3 subject line options — curiosity, benefit, and direct]
NEWSLETTER PARAGRAPH:
[100-120 words. One insight from the topic written as if continuing a conversation
with a reader who has been following along.]
---
Repeat the above for all 3 topics.
Mark each topic as used by moving it from the "Content Backlog" section to a
"Used — [CURRENT MONTH YEAR]" section in @MARKETING.md.
End with a quick summary: which pillars were covered this week, and a reminder of
which pillar has been least covered recently so I can prioritise it next batch.
How to Use It Each Week
On Monday morning open Claude Code in your content project folder. Type /content-batch. Wait 3 to 5 minutes while Claude generates everything. Read through the output. Pick what to use and adjust the voice on anything that feels off. Copy into your scheduling tool or post directly.
That is your week's content in the time it used to take to write one post.
Editing the Output
Claude's output is a first draft and not a final post. Always read it with your own judgment.
Does this sound like you or does it sound like AI? Is the opening hook actually strong enough to stop a scroll? Does the practical takeaway feel specific and useful?
The quality of the output depends on how detailed your MARKETING.md is. The more specific your voice rules the less editing you have to do.
Scaling It Up
Once the basic batch is working extend it with these additions.
Add a topic research step:
Before selecting topics, use the fetch MCP to visit [YOUR NICHE NEWSLETTER / BLOG]
and see what topics are being discussed this week. Let that inform the topic selection.
Add a repurposing step:
- After generating content, identify which one post from last week's batch
- got the best engagement (I will paste the stats below). Repurpose it into
- two new angles for this week.
Your Action Right Now
Create or update your MARKETING.md with at least 10 topic ideas in the backlog.
Save the content batch command. Run /content-batch.
Read the output. How much editing does it need? Adjust your voice rules in MARKETING.md based on what felt off. The more you refine the rules the less you have to edit the output next time.
